Review: Mumbai Police

Mumbai Police Movie – Malayalam, a psychopathic cum fiery investigative scripted flick which I have seen in Malayalam after such a long time. I don’t personally believe that there is anything special in the direction part by Rosshan Andrrews(considering the fact that Cassanova wasn’t a stabbing success in his career), major leading actors including Prithviraj (in as ACP Antony Moses) or Jayasurya (in as ACP Aryan John Jacob) and Rahman (in as CP Farhan). Even if I they garbed the police uniforms and known as Mumbai Police together as a ‘team’, I doubt whether they have done something inexplicable in this fab movie. Yeah! This is really a fabulous-enjoyable movie which a crazy Mallu movie viewer could fall in with. I was lil confused about, what or how to write a review about this movie? The reason behind it is a hectic factor though.
For me, the most basic, but the counterpart during the interpretation of a good movie is its unbiased story itself. That’s what I have mentioned above! I mean, what’s so special while speaking about ‘Mumbai Police’? Story, uh? Yeah! Bobby-Sanjay combination has once again proved their deliberate epic symbol on the writing part and showed us that, they are inconclusively still awake for heating their brain cells for the audience. Hence, I’ll give the whole ratings and applauds to these 2 gentlemen, who have had worked so hard on generating a tonic story part and give us a very thoughtful piece of script.

You aren’t suiting well with the behavior and attitude of a police officer, Appu. Could have been much better, if you show the kind of tempestuous nature which is a must character for a police officer in the movie. It doesn’t mean, ya have disappointed the viewers in any way, but we are expecting enough from your inborn acting skills.

The BG score did by Gopi Sunder and cinematography by R. Diwakar were all set in an unbeatable quality for a  mystery tagged movie like this.

VERDICT: A must watch one for the viewers, who could accept the hidden ‘realities‘ happening in our current society and appreciate this team as a whole for the courage they had put together in its making.

She is COMING!

Hey fellas,

As you all know, I was dealing with a short movie project for the past few months and it finally got finished by the 1st week of this February. Well, while talking about “Obtrusive Hopes” in short, it is romance and mystery oriented movie. Actually, the thread behind this flick came to mind from that title itself. Better if I say, “Obtrusive Hopes” was one among the poetry which I had written from my little insights few months back in this blogging space. It was really a great memorable experience for me through this project and I learnt almost every corner of the difficulty while taking a movie. See that, what I’m mentioning here is all about the short movie of just 5 minutes duration! Perhaps, it would be much easier for us to complete the task if the locations we had selected were in indoor areas rather than outdoors. But what actually matters here is all about the rage EXPERIENCES I had in doing a very new stuff. I did really enjoy every part of the shooting schedules loads my 8 dear friends who were included in the crew list. The support and encouragement they showed on the location sites were exactly classy ones. Now, it’s time for us to party hard. 😀 😛 We are trying our level best to release it officially in YouTube and other popular media’s by the mid of March, 2013 so that promotion part and all can be done in a perfect way. Right now, I have only this much to share about. Have a good day ahead, Folks. God bless. Cheers.\m/ 🙂

PS: Here is the official Facebook page of our movie! Keep in touch with “Obtrusive Hopes” for her upcoming updates! 🙂

Obtrusive Hopes
Hey folks,
I know, it’s been after such a long time I’m updating a post in my blog space. It’s still unknown to me that why did I missed you all these days? Well, I was not totally engaged in my studies though. :/ I spent these days especially after reading some Indian author’s like Chetan Bhagath and Preeti Shenoy’s best sellers with the fake identity in front of my parents that their son is seriously studying for the University exams which will begin by this May, 2013. Yes! Studying something in which you are not interested at would simply make offenses for your time as well as freedom. This is a lesson which I learnt when I got admitted to a professional course like Engineering. The effort you may have to put into achieving this degree is a mystic one according to my own personal experiences as an Engineering student. Actually the fact is, “How could a guy like me can sit similar to a DUMBO for more than continuous 7 hours of unwelcoming lecture sessions?” I’m not sure whether our Universe could accord this much tons of Doctors and Engineers in her! Does it mean we are only depending upon Engineers and Doctors for all our needs? If it is the case, how could you watch movies and songs for entertaining yourselves from daily pressures and strains? How could you live without maintaining health, in which food is a main factor? I can’t even think about it at least in my random dreams! “Life is what actually you make it, not others” I do have belief, trust and faith in God! If he is the person who made me, would definitely give me what I wish to do/achieve in life. What I’m waiting for now is my vibrant hopes in life to come true. Well, let’s hope for the best future coming ahead.

The other abject news which I have to share with you is about our movie! It’s finished and I’m waiting for the announcement of Fest result which will be available on the 19th of this month. It will be tight competition according to the entries they have received under this category. There are 500+ shot movies competing for the grand amount of 40k to bag in their hands. I’m planning to release it universally through YouTube on this March. Hope you all will enjoy watching it and would give the frank feedbacks about my new venture. For now, this is what’s left with me. Have a great time ahead, WP blooms. God bless. Cheers.\m/ 🙂

Portrait

Note: Hey fellas! It’s been such a long time I was fully outdated from this space. The reason for my absence was the restrictions put forward by my Mom for the cyber area related activities cause of my internal exams started by the mid of this month. I was in an arena of kinda personal tortures at home as well. Not a debenture one of painful moments, but some expeditious moments which I had faced in life. Anyway, I’m IN for my Christmas holidays now. Yayayayay….! 😀 This vacation would be definitely a memorable one for me I wish. SERIOUSLY! Dheedhi is available at home by the beginning of this month inwards and will leave back to her college after Christmas only. It’s over 2 years of half-hearted December month without her, I’m going to celebrate this Christmas at home with Revu. 🙂

With Revu and cousin of mine for a function!

I’m going to reveal a delightful news in front of you all now! May be, you would have seen me as a little being who expresses his random thoughts through this WordPress domain. In addition to it, I’m going to participate in a short movie contest which will be conducted by a popular media in a national level stream over itself. For further information, click here. The topic which they have given for the contest is, “Severance”. According to the notifications published by them, a short-film of 5 minutes duration can be made on the basis of topic given and the cast and crew members should be from respective colleges only! I own a nice thread related to the topic and will be dealing with the direction and story part of my first movie. The cast and crew are already ready now and we’ll begin the shoot related works from tomorrow onwards. I need your kind blessings and prayers for this innovative job which RAHUL ASHOK is going to handle with for the first time. Wish you all a nice and joyous vacation days coming ahead, dear ones. Love ya all. Have a good time there. Cheers.\m/ 🙂

Review: Oldboy

A substantive revenge revealing flick!

Park Chan-wook’s Oldboy, a korean flick, which shows the concoction of sexuality, violence, and cinematic ingenuity in a well outspoken manner. It’s not a political or sexual flick, but it is all about the distortions of one’s personality as a result of revenge, which was meant for a corny incident happened during hero’s(Dae-su) teenage .Choi Min-sik did that role in a well explicit and extra ordinary manner. Hat’s off to you mahn! \m/ 🙂

Movie begins with the drunkard Dae-su’s intemperate behavior and scrimmage against the police authorities, who arrested him under an indrawn custody. Later he released from there with the help of his friend,  Joo-hwan! He gets Dae-su to call home from a phone booth, but while the solicitous friend takes a turn talking to the birthday girl, Dae-su mysteriously DISAPPEARS.  Later we are supposed to see, Dae-su in a prison cell, where, with the help of a voice-over delivered by Dae-su from some time in the future, we find out the businessman has been imprisoned for 15 YEARS. The specialty about the prison is that, it’s a private cell by ill natured people for their customers to have their enemies kidnapped and locked up.  Dae-su’s life in such a complicated days made him to wait for the day of negotiation from there.  Life inside it was a comfortable cell, which resembles a very comfortable studio apartment sans kitchen, TV and all. He writes out a lengthy list of people he’s offended or injured enough to have plotted this revenge.

Let’s just say that Dae-su is, after 15 years, released from his prison and wanders into a sushi bar where he meets Mido (Kang Hye-jeong), an 18-year-old sushi chef with whom he soon takes up.  During this middle section, Dae-su is contacted over a cell phone he’s slipped – and, eventually, through email – by the mysterious man who paid for his imprisonment.  Dae-su also tracks down the prison’s location and wreaks a little revenge of his own on his hired jailers.

From here onwards, we can see the extremely violent, though the physical violence seems perfectly appropriate when you match it up to the psychic violence.  Also, Park throughout the film, has employed distancing devices.  He’ll use a medium shot instead of a close-up whenever he can, a long-shot instead of a medium shot.  The movie’s big fight scene – during which Dae-su pummels a platoon of pole-wielding thugs with a hammer (and wins) – is filmed in a beautiful and splendid way for the viewers.  Just before the fight begins, when Dae-su holds his hammer over the head of his first victim, a dotted line suddenly appears on screen tracing the path the hammer will take to the man’s pate. It’s really horrible as well as substantive one though. 😀

Park’s visual language can be lovely, as well.  In his cell, Dae-su had been susceptible to hallucinations in which ants had crawled all over his face and arms and under his skin.  Mido, who reads about it in his journals, tells him she feels bad for him; she’s read that people who dream about ants are lonely.  To show the idea of loneliness and ants as Mido imagines it, Park uses a computer trick to have an oncoming subway car cross the frame from upper right to lower left; whether intentional or not. When he cuts to the inside of a train car, all alone, and a placid-looking giant ant all alone in another.  It’s an antique moment, strangely serene, odd, and wholly different from Dae-su’s experience.

The middle portion of Oldboy belongs to Dae-su and Mido, their burgeoning relationship and how it tries to take hold under what turns out to be the surveillance of Dae-su’s foe.  The final third belongs to Dae-su and that foe who, by then, has openly revealed himself and prodded Dae-su to discover the source of his enmity.

Park Chan-wook’s Oldboy delivers a package of filmed vengeance that is steeped in rage and violence.  But it’s also a rigorously introspective movie of the times. For me, Oldboy is one among the movie that can be added to my top 5 flicks list. A MUST watch one! 🙂

Verdict:4.6/5

I’m so glad to share the youtube link of full movie with English subtitles here. Hope you guys will enjoy watching this irrevocable thriller. 🙂

Thanks,

Diamond Necklace

I didn’t felt, ‘Diamond Necklace’ is one among the splendid movies that I saw recently. Even the movie had an awesome story with versatility in crew, something somewhere is missing I guess. But I came to know that the movie have already got much rating as well as great audience reviews. That doesn’t mean I have enough criticisms about the movie. I’m confused whether the new comers except Fahad and Samvritha, successful in handlings other roles comfortably. Especially,  Gauthami Nair and Anusree. Well, they are not much experienced in comparing with them I know. :P. Considering  this as their 1st debut in the industry, appreciable performance girls. Hope you would be much better in upcoming movies. J

Diamond Necklace’ is a malayalam movie having Dubai based story of an oncologist, Arun(Fahad) and his worst life out there in the vacillating bachelor life. The movie reveals the transformation of his character when he gets married and changes in the dimensions of his life because of three girls(Samvritha, Gauthami and Anusree) . The romantic look in him as an inborn character and the natural gestures shown by Fahad worked well in this movie too. Hats off to you man…:D
Characters did by Sreenivasan and Rohini were conspicuous. I won’t tell it’s really a weird story line from Iqbal Kuttipuram. But the story conveys something strange, that we have never seen before. “A Romantic Tale on the Verge of Reality”, that’s what director cum producer Lal Jose focused through this new project. And the music did by Vidyasagar gave a carry off again through “Nilamalare nilamalare….” for music lovers. Taking the whole movie into consideration, it’s an above average one for me. 🙂

Verdict:3.6/5
